In a previous post about Schedule B and HTS valid for export, we explained why we make use of both lists and how it benefits our customers.

Today is all about interesting stats:

  • There are 22,138 active numbers across the lists that are eligible to be used for export.
  • The reporting quantity of X (meaning no reporting quantity is required) is used on 1,924 of those. All other numbers require reporting. For a list of the differing units of quantity/measure, visit here.
  • Most classifications do not require a second unit of quantity/measure, but some do, more than expected – 4,973. These are in varying chapters, often pertaining to food products, live animals, tobacco, and textiles, among other items.
  • Sometimes classifying descriptions change along with the numbers offered.  Additionally, sometimes existing numbers change their reporting quantity or quantities.

The U.S. Government updates these files sets as many as 4 or 5 times a year, so to stay current, you can request that your company be added to receive the most recent amalgamated list by contacting us at or via our Contact Us page.
