Comments remain open for a proposed rule governing changes to AES submissions. The comment period ends on May 9, 2016 at 11:59 EDT.
Two new data elements are on the way – original ITN and a used electronics indicator. Clarifications on terminology definitions are also included.
The original ITN is the more far-reaching of the two changes. In the words of the government:
The “Original ITN” may be utilized if a previously filed shipment is replaced or divided and for which additional shipment(s) must be filed. Adding the “Original ITN” will assist the export trade community and enforcement agencies in identifying that a filer completed the mandatory filing requirements for the original shipment and any additional shipment(s).
Our software Global Wizard will be incorporating these two new data elements for testing as soon as the proposed rule is final and the data elements are available in the AES in ACE test environment.
